A recent UK Government report predicts that more than 21 million adults and 1 million children will be obese by 2010. Until recently, many believed that obesity could be treated by simply measuring BMI and losing body weight. It has become apparent that the treatment of obesity hinges on the reduction and control of body fat.

Over the past decades a technique has been developed which analyses body composition based on the electrical properties of biological tissues. Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) has many advantages over other methods in that it is safe, rapid, easy to use and requires minimal operator training. Thus it has become widely used in hospitals, health & fitness centres and in field studies.

Established in 1996, Biospace has become the market leader in the development of BIA to accurately map out body composition.
Biospace has overcome the limits of conventional BIA .
InBody utilizes state of the art technology, providing extremely reproducible and accurate body composition analysis data. It gained FDA approval 2003 . The new InBody technology has been patented internationally in the USA, Europe, Japan, and in many other countries.

There is increasing awareness of the benefits of using the Biospace range in areas such as Obesity Management, Occupational Health Assessment, Schools, Gyms and Health & Fitness centres, Hospital and Scientific Research Centres.
