Getting in Toon With Their Bodies

Newcastle City Council is making a major investment in the health and well-being of its citizens with the installation of InBody composition analysers in six of its leisure centres.

The goal is to attract new clients and retain existing members by offering access to this highly accurate measurement of total body statistics.

The sophisticated technology provides a comprehensive printed report showing everything from body fat percentage to skeletal muscle mass, which help members and staff plan fitness programs and track progress more accurately.

The decision to purchase the InBody 720 analyser, the highest specification professional model, for six sites was made after the successful installation of an InBody 720 at Eldon Leisure Centre in 2007 during refurbishment.

Eldon Leisure Centre's machine will be upgraded top a more advanced 720 model, while Gosforth Pool, Outer West Pool, East end Pool, Centre for Sport and Lightfoot Centre are the other five sites receiving the new InBody 720 analysers. An InBody 520 machine will travel between Elswick Pool and Newburn Activity Centre.
